And that’s why I enjoy reading self help books, not to change my life overnight but to absorb new ideas, concepts and ways of thinking that will make my life a little better.Posts should generally fit the "self improvement" mindset. But It has helped improve my life in a small but positive way. It’s by no means a life changing book, I’m yet to read one that is and don’t believe that should ever be the intention or goal. Now each morning as soon as I turn the shower handle I automatically reach for the floss adjacent to me and start flossing. As I do, I reach for the floss and floss my teeth. Each morning I turn the shower on and wait for it to warm up. I then used the habit stacking technique - stack it with another existing habit. So I bought floss sticks which make it that much more convenient to floss my teeth. Make the habit easy - I hate using floss tape it’s a small but unnecessary added step. As opposed to hiding it was in my vanity. Make the habit obvious - I placed floss on the bench so it was visible each morning as a cue and reminder. ![]() Obviously that’s a positive habit I wanted to reinforce so I used some of the principles as follows.
